104 314 Visningar

Sunburns can occur in any climate and at any time of the year, making it important to protect the skin. Should one suffer from a sunburn, there are many available homemade remedies to reduce discomfort, provide relief and restore their skin.

Drink Water

A sunburn dehydrates the skin. The best way to rehydrate it is to drink water. Drinking water is not just good for sunburned skin, but also for the rest of the body.

Aloe

Whether aloe is kept as a gel in bottles or as a live plant, it feels great against the skin and works better than most other store-bought lotions.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar possesses a number of health benefits, including helping with sunburns. Prepare a cool bath and add 1 cup of apple cider vinegar to it. This will help balance out the pH levels of sunburned skin and quicken the healing process.

Oatmeal

If the skin has started to itch, soak in an oatmeal bath. The oatmeal will not only help heal the sunburn, but it will also alleviate the itchy skin feeling.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil can work as a mild sunscreen. It doesn't provide the same kind of protection as some of the SPF 50 products out there, but in general, it's a great product that hydrates the skin without leaving a chemical smell. Because it helps to hydrate the skin, it works as an excellent home remedy for a sunburn.

By taking advantage of these different homemade sunburn remedies, anyone can discover relief from the pain while improving the body's ability to generate and hydrate new skin.
